Luda takes it...

With Ludacris, Jeezy, Kanye, and T.I. all dropping albums, and having heard most of those offerings, LUDA definitely lives up to the MVP status. There's some mixed reviews out there, but this record definitely stood out to me amongst all the mainstream hip hop fuckery. He's clearly going for delf with this release (his 6th full-length) stating his claim as not just a rapper but also an MC. The biggest point I could make about this is that a mainstream southern rapper went out of his way to get PREMO on a beat...that goes to show he's got some integrity left for the art, and kudos to him for that (the track's also dope.) Also a testament to the art is "I do it for hip hop" with Hova and Nas. Kudos again. I think his only mistake was putting so many features on the record (every track I think?) but I got the impression it was mostly so Chris could shine. It still bothers me when mofuckers get heavy checks for a 16 bar feature with no strength on the verse. And of course everyone is and will continue to hail Weezy and everything he touches, but I stand pretty firm in not feeling his flow. His feature on "Theater of the Mind" was no different, just sounds like he's bent in the studio spitting whatever comes out, and that's probably not far from the truth. So, cop the new Luda, doing some real shit, unless you want to hear an ENTIRE RECORD OF KANYE AUTOTUNING US INTO OBLIVION.

Here's a review from da globe

Ludacris "MVP" (prod. by DJ Premier)

Ludacris ft. Jay-Z & Nas "I Do it for Hip Hop"

Productivity is high

Yezzurp. I've been posted in MA for a bit now, gathering all my belongings and soon making a be-line back to the yay. During my tenure here @ home I've mostly been posted in the lab completing TWO NEW MIX CD'S . The first is a new hip hop mixtape from Mystika, in conjuction with our homie @ Fundamental Clothing. The mix is called "THE GUEST LIST" in appreciation of many of the shows we've (The Problemaddicts) played around the Northeast over the past couple years with artists that are featured on the CD. There's some pretty strong features and tracks on this one, including: DEAD PREZ, EVIDENCE, EL DA SENSEI, COPYWRITE, KRUMBSNATCHA, as well as production from EVIDENCE, KHRYSIS (Justus League) DJ THEORY, STATIK SELEKTAH, and J DILLA (!) We had our release party last night @ The Iron Horse which is always a stomp, passed out plenty of free discs, and you can get yers too! Hit up the Problemaddicts myspace and request a copy and we'll get you and your nanna one.

Aside from that project, I've been planning to release a club/dance mix for a minute now, and finally have that under wraps. After spending a solid week hammering out the mix for the guest lit it was finally time to get in deep with that. Now with a subsequent stiff neck and lack of sleep magic has been made. The mix is aptly titled "LOSE CONTROL" and features a slew of tracks you may or may not expect from the kid, properly cut with all the trimmings. Rather than post a tracklist now, I'll have the mix up for free download within the next week so you'll just have to save your haterisms till then.

cheers bitches, can't wait to get back to CA.

LICK A SHOT FOR OBEEZY!

There is hope for our children still...

I wasn't one to jump this bandwagon during the election process, being that Barack is still a politician and all...however I must say that I've never felt inspired by any of the USA's political leaders until our nations new homie got in there. We haven't had a decent president in my lifetime of 25 years, and to be honest, it's been pretty embarrassing to even consider yourself an American in the eyes of the world. All politricks aside, I do believe that Barack can bring something that's extremely important and lacking in our country - UNITY, and he is definitely a certified real motherfucker in my book.

Let's do it.

Also, my homie Ken Harman in Oakland runs a VERY thourough blog (featured on msnbc and the wall street journal, boh!) @ the obama art report. It's a blog about Obama artwork and it's dope.
